Project Oliver GT

Wheelchair-Mounted Gaming Controller

Developed during the ASSIST HEIDI Summer School 2025 at Technikum Vienna, this project explored accessible gaming through an iterative co-design process with Oliver, a gamer with motor limitations. Various layouts, button types, and joystick mechanisms have been tested and prototyped to identify solutions that best matched the co-designers needs. The resulting controller, tailored to Oliver’s hand posture and muscle capacity, enables him to play Gran Turismo more comfortably while remaining compatible with most games and platforms.
