In the textile technology workshop of the University of applied Arts Vienna I screenprinted my own fabric which I later used to quilt a douvet cover.

Since the preperation of a screen is more time-consuming than the actual printing, my goal was to use the screens more than just once or twice. Thats how I came up with the idea of printing a multitude of pattern pieces with I could eventually sew together to a blanket. I ended up using 42 fabric pieces with six different patterns. I sewed them more or less randomly together, used a complementary color for the left side and filled it with some padding material. For a little extra pop of color I decided to add red bias tape to the hem. This was my first screenprinting project as well as my first quilt – but defenitely not the last.
